   This class is a great overview, by two experienced practitioners, of the practical, design, and materials considerations you need to take into account when embarking on a project for creating outdoor panels -- as well as how to organize these considerations into a few simple documents. The examples are lively and interesting, and will remind you that interpretation is fun. I also appreciate getting the handouts (which are useful) with the recorded version of this class, and the transcription of the online chat session.
   
   I would recommend this class to independent exhibit developers as well as site staff planning outdoor signage. But I really think these online courses would be immensely helpful to smaller institutions without much of a training budget. How to let them know about it, though? (Posted on 11/23/09)
